Also stopped at a mountain pond in WY. Still had a double willow spinner bait tied onto the heavy rod. (Ran over the light action one over in IA, don't ask).
Figured (hoped)some Northerns might be in there so I was casting it and ripping in in pretty fast over the shallow weeds.
Not sure why this guy has so hungry. He looked stuffed full of food to me. Heavy and hard fighting fish, photos don't do it justice.
